Ready for the New

Happy 2012!

Are you all ready for a new year?

2011, wasn't great to me, and I'm not sad to see it go. I'm so thankful that years that aren't my favorite end and new ones come quickly.

Here's to 2012, I'm so excited for what this year will hold- including new and fun changes to this blog and  our etsy store!
Thanks for sticking around this year! I vow to make this blog bigger and better than ever in 2012, so look out!

Party Dresses

Do you go out for New Years Eve?

I use to, but sometime I think its secretly awesome and so cozy to stay in when everyone else is out- and hey Joanna does it so it can't be too lame right?

I do love party dresses though, and I might just be tempted to go out if I had one of these. It's not to late to pick out your outfit for tomorrow night!

Toy Atlas Rainbow

If you're into color blocking and art (I happen to be) you're going to love this.

London-based artist David T. Waller created Car Atlas- Rainbow, an art installation made of only toy cars! The display is at the Artsdepot's Apthorp Gallery and recieved the people's favorite award.

I think it's pretty rad-- talk about repurposing!

The High Line NYC

Have any of you NYCers ever been to The High Line Park? I see it a lot (mostly through cab windows!) but I've never had a chance to go.

For those of you who haven't heard of it, High Line Park was built on a historic freight rail line and is located on the West Side.  Cool, right?

Eskimo Kisses

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas! The celebration continues for me today as I am heading to Leighton's to do Christmas with his family. I like the holiday to extend as long as possible, so it's fine by me.

I found this eskimo lodge in Finland, above recently. It looks pretty adventurous, but I'm not sure I would PAY to live in ice. On the other hand,  it would definitely be something few others have done.

Would you ever stay there?

Merry Christmas Eve

Readers, Merry Christmas Eve. I hope your Christmas is wonderfully relaxing and full of cheer.

I'll see you Monday!
xo.

Christmas Morning Breakfast

Sorry I neglected any savory recipes here, but nothing says Christmas morning like a sugar overload-- right?

DIY Snow Maker

I am NOT dreaming of a white Christmas as the song says. After a white (blizzard) Christmas two years ago in Oklahoma and New York that caused my boyfriend to spend Christmas eve and day in an airport and nearly caused me to miss Christmas with my family, I am hoping for nice sunny Christmases for the rest of my life.

This DIY Snow Machine is something I could definitely get behind though. Snow for your pictures without the freezing cold? Now that's something I could get behind.

See the instructions here.

I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas

Still going with the gift guides in case you haven't found that perfect something yet-- there's time left:)

Although the I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas song is slightly annoying, maybe I secretly like it a bit. It IS a bit of a tradition after all. So if you have kids at heart in your family, here's some cute little trinkets they would all love.

Holiday Beauty

I'm back in action! Thanks for hanging out while I finished finals, packed for home, traveled to Florida, and then to Oklahoma. It's been crazy.

How about some holiday beauty? What I love about winter is that you can be comfy AND glam (also, red lipstick always rocks).

Some elegant holiday looks, above.

A homemade advent calendar with 25 days of surprises? I would love to open a present every day until Christmas (who wouldn’t!).

I imagine that it would put me right in the Christmas Spirit (Which I haven’t even had time to think about yet.. curse finals).

Anthropologie Window Displays

Although I love everything about Anthropologie, possibly my very favorite thing about shopping there is their window displays (especially at the Rockefeller Center shop.. wow).  At Christmas time, they are especially stunning. Here are a few in recent history that are quite breathtaking!

Gift Guide 1: All I want for Christmas

I love gift guides so very much. I know everyone is doing them, but I just can't help myself from wanting to do my own. You can never have too many gift guides, right?

A little spin on a traditional gift guide, I'm going to make mine in relation to some of my favorite Christmas songs ie -what gifts and awesome things I think of when rocking out to Christmas tunes.

First up- Mariah Carey "All I want for Christmas is You." Nothing like channeling your inner diva when listening to Mariah-- the above gifts are PERFECT for the glamourous individuals in your life!

P.S. You only have one more day to enter the giveaway- that would also make a wonderful Christmas present for anyone!

Have a Merry Weekend!

What are you doing this weekend?
I'm probably going to go bury myself in a hole of homework and just stay there for a nice long while.  I'm only kind of kidding, but posting might be a little bit lite these next couple of weeks (I'll try!). There are some gorgeous Christmas Markets popping up around town and I would love to reward myself with a visit.  Alas, we will see!

I hope your weekend is quite lovely!

P.S. A special welcome to all my new followers from A Law Student's Journey! So happy to have you.
P.P.S. Go enter the giveaway.

The Perfect Christmas Pictures

I love getting Christmas cards in the mail each year, but sometimes the photos in them look so posed, and  unnatural (something like this).  The pictures above, however, are positively adorable! They give me a little Christmas spirit:)
